In partnership with Broward County Environmental Planning and Community Resilience Division and the Environmental Conservation Organization (ECO), Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is proud to announce our annual Broward P3 Eco-Challenge! We want to recognize and reward traditional and charter BCPS schools, teachers, students, non-instructional and custodial staff for their efforts to learn about and implement environmentally sustainable measures and green initiatives within their schools and communities.
P3 School Challenge – Demonstrate participation in or implementation of different sustainability metrics based on a rubric composed of 6 comprehensive categories:
1. School Grounds Enhancement 4. Community Involvement
2. School Sustainability 5. Administrative Support
3. Curriculum Integration 6. Innovation
New! Water Conservation PSA Contest – schools that submit a PSA will earn 10 bonus points!
Environmental Stewardship Recognition – Recognizes and rewards BCPS teachers, students, non-instructional and custodial staff who show evidence of promoting civic responsibility, environmental stewardship, and education of environmental issues. The metrics of this category include:
- Awareness and Involvement
- Current Professional Development/Affiliation
- Instructional Soundness/Creativity
- Skill Building

The Broward P3 Eco-Challenge initiative is a multi-divisional and organizational effort among the Applied Learning Department of the Office of Academics, Office of Facilities and Construction, Information & Technology Department of BCPS, and our partners, Broward County Environmental Planning and Community Resilience Division and the Environmental Conservation Organization.
