Applications that link technology and CCSS
Common Core Standards include the integration of technology tools for communication, collaboration, and student demonstration of knowledge. Below are a couple examples of the standards and which technology tools could be used to meet the standards.
W.5.6 – With some guidance and support from adults, use technology, including the Internet, to produce and publish writing as well as to interact and collaborate with others; demonstrate sufficient command of keyboarding skills to type a minimum of two pages in a single sitting. Software applications available in the county to assist with include: Inspiration 8, Schoology, Bb, Moodle, Edmodo, MS Word, PhotoStory.
RST.6-8.9 ñ Compare and contrast the information gained from experiments, simulations, video, or multimedia sources with that gained from reading a text on the same topic. Technology tools to assist include: Discovery Education (in BEEP), National Science Foundation/Thinkfinity (http://thinkfinity.org), GIZMOS, Inspiration templates, Nettrekker.
CCSS.math.practice.mp3 ñ Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others. Technology tools to assist include: discussion forums, blogs, wikis, Edmodo, Moodle, Bb, Audacity, Podcasts, PowerPoint, Keynote.
